Lewis Psychology provides support for "Stoptober" Campaign

During October, thousands of people across England are taking part in Stoptober - a new, exciting 28 day challenge to stop smoking.  If you can stop smoking for 28 days, you're five times more likely to stay smoke free.

Lewis Psychology are right alongside you every step of the way during Stoptober with 20% off stop smoking hypnotherapy for the whole of October.

Hypnotherapy has the reputation of being the best therapeutic help for smoking cessation available, with an excellent success rate. Here in Britain the use of hypnotherapy to stop smoking has been acknowledged by the British Medical Association (BMA) as the most effective help available to those who are addicted to smoking. Statistically hypnotherapy is more effective than other stop smoking methods such as nicotine replacement therapy (patches and gum), advice from GP and sheer willpower.

At Lewis Psychology we use a combination of advanced hypnotherapy techniques and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with an evidence based psychological model known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). We have found this unique approach greatly increases the effectiveness of the Stop Smoking session.

New Advanced Audio Technology For Use During Hypnotherapy

We now provide our hypnotherapy clients with the option of using audio technology with the use of comfortable headphones.  This allows the hypnotherapist's voice, combined with relaxing background sound, to be fed directly into the ears via the headphones, which enhances the hypnotherapy experience and cuts out any background sound. The wearing of the headphones during hypnotherapy sessions is by no means essential or obligatory but clients who have used them have found them beneficial.

New Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

Our team of Clinical Hypnotherapists are now offering Weight Loss Hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis (a relaxed state of focussed awareness) in a medical, psycho-educational, or therapeutic setting. The British Medical Association (BMA) and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recognise and approve Clinical Hypnotherapy as a safe effective treatment for many psychological and medical conditions including IBS.

The six session Weight Loss Hypnotherapy Programme is for those who want to control their eating and lose weight. You may have experienced difficulty losing weight or have lost weight in the past only to put it on again. Weight Loss Hypnotherapy will teach you how to deal with stress and strong emotions without turning to food for comfort. Most importantly you'll discover how to change the way you think about food and change your behaviour so that you can lose weight successfully.

Through the use of Hypnosis combined with Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we will help you to permanently change your relationship with food, enabling you to lose weight, feel in control and ultimately, become the size and shape you desire.

We are now offering EMDR

We are now offering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  EMDR is a psychotherapeutic procedure that was developed to resolve the development of trauma-related memories caused by exposure to distressing events such as rape, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), physical abuse or neglect, surgical trauma and road traffic accidents.

The evidence base for the effectiveness and efficiency of EMDR, in particular for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and trauma related problems, is extremely strong. As such EMDR is acknowledged as effective in the treatment of PTSD by The UK DOH National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE)
