Lewis Psychology Creating a Positive Social Impact

Access to Counselling Scheme

We recognise that the cost of counselling is prohibitive for some, so we offer a subsidised 'Access to Counselling Scheme' to enable people in receipt of benefits to get the support they need.

Eligibility

You may be entitled to a fee reduction under our Access to Counselling Scheme, if you receive one of the following benefits:

  • Income related JSA - Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income related ESA - Employment and Support Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit

The reduced fee applies to individuals who pay their own fees and do NOT claim the fee from a third party such as a social worker.

If you want to obtain a fee reduction you must, at the time of your first appointment declare and provide evidence that you are in receipt of one of the above benefits. You must provide us with a recent letter (i.e. no more than six months old), confirming your entitlement to one of the above benefits. Sometimes, we can accept a slightly older award notice if it is accompanied by a bank statement that clearly shows the benefit being paid into the account within the last month.

If you think you would qualify for help under this scheme then please ask about it when booking your first appointment.  Please note that we will need to see proof of your status for you to qualify.

What Is A Social Enterprise?

Social enterprise is one of the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding areas of business. It is also one of the most misunderstood. A social enterprise is not a charity. As a social enterprise we have to charge for our services and need to make enough money to remain trading.  The difference between a social enterprise and a commercial business is what happens to its profits.  Rather than making money for shareholders, we use our profits to support our social objectives.
